The concept of the game is cool

Youve now succeeded in making 4 editions of the same game without adding much new or intuitive that actually adds to the game at all
a re-hash of a re-hash of a re-hash
sure, it's prettier, but theres still the lag problems, still the inability to hurt something behind an explosion, still the same old same old gameplay.

Onslaught destroyed you in the "Defend you Castle" sort of genre, and you have nothing to even begin to rise to the challenge it set for you.

a few suggestions:
Im not sure what you could do about this, but sprites dont look so good close up.
Make the power up/warning graphics drawn in sprite style to give the thing consistancy
Make sure theres more to it than just one fight to avoid this game being too simple. Give people somethig to go through and beat, and get something for beating (minigames, secrets, ect..)

If your looking to make this really ambitious, you could make a platformer minigame as part of it...
but hell...whatever you do, I wanna see this finished!

Yeah, the full version ends up with levels, you still fight mario, but there are twists, for example:a level I'm doing right now include luigi taking sides with mario and you have 2 guys to fight until you knock out luigi. The level system is similar to breaching a base. You start outside and fight your way through. At some point there will be a sniper area where you get to snipe out a few guys. This should be don in about a month with a shitload of stuff since fo some reason this is getting made very quickly :)

but 90% done? I think not...
you have the basic concept here...now its time to make it actually fun to play. Right now, its an endless, painfully slow bombing raid, which is very, very lacking

if you played it long enuff you`d know it was endless :P. it does get very hard later on in the later levels. hopefully adding a few extra bonuses to hit will make it more appealing to ya.
